This is the best comic I've made in some time. I'm very, very pleased with it. There's a
pretty funny spoof of today's page in the forum, made by
Kelly January.
Also,
McMan made the very first fanart of the
Demon Lord!
So I have this whole complicated thing with magic and spells in my comic. Magic has two main visible effects, those on the physical senses and those on the psyche. Physical effects basically apply to those things that can, obviously, be physically felt, like hitting someone over the head with a rock, or just making them feel somewhat lethargic and tired (both of those things fall into the Earth Element category). When someone casts a spell with a physical effect, it is denoted by the light and color that emanates from their hands, while mental effect spells just happen automatically. So if you look back, when Marie puts the guards to sleep
in Chapter Two there's a blue glow around her hand, and when the captain
wakes them up later there's nothing of the same nature.
Magic also falls into six elements, and each have their own color. So far, we've seen three: Blue, Red and Green. Each is a different magical element with their own traits and capabilities. This will all be explored or at least mentioned later, but I thought y'all would find that somewhat interesting.
Alright, so, last week my post got somewhat cut off, so here's basically what I said in a nutshell:
"Comicon was awesome and I bought myself a lot of crap.
The Uniques is an awesome comic that is drawn by some equally awesome people.
Kevin Bolk draws some of the funniest comics I've ever seen.
The guy who draws You, Me & Steve is pretty nice."
....Yeeeup. That's it.
So! I have my SCUBA certification dives today, so I can't give myself a lot of time to type. I need to mentally prepare and review all the hand signals: Danger! (pump fist) Out of Air! (throat slash) Low on Air! (thump chest) Something's wrong! (waggle hand) Ok! (loop pointer finger and thumb) Level off here! (hold hand horizontal) Get with your buddy! (press pointer fingers together) Go up! (thumb's up) ETC.
Number one rule of SCUBA: Never, ever ever ever ever EVER hold your breath.
Okay, I think that's everything.
Cheeko out.
